About Florian

I am a self-taught painter from Munich with a scientific background in Computational Evolutionary Biology.

 

Painting allows me to express feelings and emotions that remain hidden in scientific work. My goal is to achieve a level of quality and depth that can convey a sense of emotion to the viewer. I pursue this, for example, by capturing the impression of a landscape or by developing the character of a person in a portrait.

Experimenting with different styles and techniques allows me to explore new ideas. At the same time, I am generally drawn to distilling the essence of an image—working out what is essential while leaving other areas open and free for interpretation.
